Welcome to Nail Nook. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Nail Nook ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
Nail Nook includes a shared master polish catalog. When you add a polish to the catalog, that polish's information (name, brand, color, finish, and photo) becomes part of the shared database available to all Nail Nook users. Your personal collection data (status, notes, ratings, personal photos) remains private to your account.
When you upload photos of your nail polish:
Community Photo Submissions
Nail Nook allows users to submit photos to a shared community catalog ("Community Photos"). By submitting a photo, you grant Nail Nook a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display that photo within the app to other users.
All submitted Community Photos are reviewed before being made publicly visible. Nail Nook uses Google Cloud Vision, an automated content moderation service, to screen submissions for inappropriate content. Photos that pass automated screening are then reviewed by a Nail Nook moderator before being approved for display. Photos may be rejected at our discretion without notice.
You retain ownership of any photos you submit. You may not submit photos that you do not have the right to share, or that contain nudity, violence, or other inappropriate content.
Please do not upload photos containing personally identifiable information, faces, or content unrelated to nail polish.
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage), which provides industry-standard security protections including encryption in transit and at rest.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
Nail Nook uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
Nail Nook is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@nailnookapp.com and we will delete that information.

Note: Polishes you have contributed to the shared master catalog may remain in the catalog after account deletion, as they are part of the community database.
We retain your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
